Pickleball in Davie, Florida
Davie's public pickleball hub is Bamford Sports Complex at Pine Island Park, where the Town maintains six permanent outdoor courts with free daily access. The courts also have an established drop-in community, making Bamford useful for players arriving without a foursome. A second in-town option is the David Posnack Jewish Community Center, which has four pickleball courts and published court hours for members and eligible guests.
Davie also has local instruction for beginners and experienced players. Start at Bamford if you want free public play, or check the JCC if membership or guest access works for you.
Where to Play Pickleball in Davie
- Bamford Sports Complex & Pine Island Park, 3801 S. Pine Island Road. The Town of Davie maintains six permanent outdoor pickleball courts here. The Town lists the courts as available daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM and does not charge a court fee. The larger recreation complex has separate posted building and facility hours, so use the Town's pickleball page for pickleball-specific access information. For current court or drop-in questions, call (954) 327-3941. Check the Town of Davie pickleball information.
- David Posnack Jewish Community Center, 5850 S. Pine Island Road. The JCC lists four pickleball courts as part of its sports facilities. Its pickleball page publishes open court hours Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. Pickleball court access is included with membership. The JCC also permits additional guest visits for a daily guest fee, subject to its current guest policies. Getting Started
Bamford is a practical place to enter the local playing community once you understand the basics. The Town has documented organized drop-in sessions where players place paddles beside the court they want to join and rotate into games as previous games finish. Because organized times can change, call (954) 327-3941 before your first visit and ask when the current beginner-friendly or recreational group plays.
For structured instruction, South Florida Pickleball Academy provides private, semi-private, and small-group instruction at Bamford Sports Complex. Its Davie-based coaching includes first-time players as well as experienced competitors. Check South Florida Pickleball Academy instruction.
If you prefer to compare individual instructors, use this site's Coaches section.
Drop-In Play and Organized Pickleball
Bamford is more than a set of free courts. The Town has documented recurring drop-in sessions with roughly 15 to 25 players participating and a paddle-based rotation system. Recent Town recreation material lists Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 8:30 PM and Saturday mornings from 8:00 to 11:30 AM for organized drop-in play. Because recreation schedules can change, confirm the current rotation at (954) 327-3941 before planning around those times.
Outside the organized periods, the Town lists the six courts as available for free daily pickleball. That gives players the flexibility to arrange their own games even when a formal drop-in session is not underway. Check the Town's current pickleball information.
The David Posnack JCC provides another route to regular play for members and eligible guests. Check its current pickleball information for court availability before attending.
Visiting Davie and Looking for a Game?
Start at Bamford Sports Complex if you want free public play. The six permanent outdoor courts do not require a membership or court fee. If you are traveling alone, try to align your visit with the Town's organized drop-in periods rather than simply arriving at an arbitrary hour. The paddle rotation during organized play gives solo players a straightforward way to join games.
The David Posnack JCC is another in-town option if you prefer a membership facility. The JCC publishes broad pickleball court hours and allows guest visits under its current membership policies. Call ahead to confirm that your planned visit qualifies for guest access and that pickleball courts will be available.
If you are completely new to pickleball, arrange instruction before entering a busy drop-in rotation. South Florida Pickleball Academy teaches at Bamford, and additional local instructors can be found in the Coaches section.
